Seawatching early on today produced a good mix of birds with 3 Eider, 20 Common Scoter, Red-throated Diver, Little Gull & 5 Great Crested Grebe.
Out on the marsh there were skeins of Pink-footed Goose ,150 Dark-bellied Brent Goose, 2 Pintail, 3 Marsh Harrier, a Peregrine flushing a lot of the wildfowl, plus Avocet, a nice flock of 300 Black-tailed Godwit, 1-2 Snipe, 38 Curlew, 9 Redshank, 100+ Dunlin ,6 Ringed Plover, a few Golden Plover & Stonechat.
We walked out down the East Bank and after a short wait the Snow Bunting flock appeared, a nice flock of c60 Snow Bunting.
A quick call late morning had us dashing over to Salthouse where local birder Graham Fellowes had found a Tundra bean Goose amongst c1500 Pink-footed Geese. Fortunately it was still showing and we had nice views, plus the Russian White-fronted Goose was still present.
The day was nicely rounded off with ringtail Hen Harrier & a Merlin.
