The following Marsh Fritillary pictures were taken on Saturday 26th May at Chambers Farm Wood in Lincolnshire. The conditions were pretty ideal with warm sunshine, and intervals of cloud but bright weather, this provided excellent light and also ensured the insects did not become overly active. We also witnessed a female egg laying on the food plant Devils-bit scabious. The adults are on the wing from late May through most of June. If you wish to visit this site details are available here
